Better pics of dori and I am in the process of remaking fili and Kili! Before I used yarn for the braids, I know there’s a trio of them bought at katsucon and those will be one of a kind ;) I’ve also added their hoods and will add they’re clips in the back.

All that is left is Bifur and thorin!

I definitely picture a nice fitted suit for starters….

Ouuu nice suit. Maybe pink and purple pinstripe? And a short wig like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/270928993913?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

yah, I…

actually an imitation of the Victorian style clothing would be a great place to start researching. For example the new Sherlock Holmes movies have a bit of a Victorian style to them. it would be true to Caroll’s original story :)

Um hate to burst your guys’ bubble but no clothing will be used in the design. It looks tacky and unrealistic. It is a cat and therefore it should look as much as a cat as possible. Anyone can slap a vest with stripe and add ears and a tail and call it the cheshire cat but it looks cheap and odd to people in the audience.

then I suggest you make a realistic mascot similar to this.

at which point there is little ‘design’ involved. you simply create a spot on fat cat in real life ;) mascot style

you also have me wondering where gender plays any role in a literal design of a cat considering the only indicator would be a large prominent set of balls on the character….
